This WEDU PBS original documentary explores the history of Tampa's Central Avenue as a destination for black businesses. During its hey-day between 1930-1960, many important figures appeared on Central Avenue; Hank Ballard (co-creator of “The Twist”), Butterfly McQueen (“Gone With the Wind”) and Ray Charles to name a few.
