- What are you on about?
- The trip to the beaches, D-Day.
- Really sorry, Bernie.
You left it too late.
It's moving because it's true.
It's a real story.
- I couldn't leave you all on your own.
- Unless you have to.
Well, she has encouraged him to go, and then there are reverberations of that.
He's disappeared off the face of the earth.
He's in France.
- Bonjour.
- At 90.
- Well, he has done it before.
Only then, of course, they were shooting at him.
- Local police who tweeted, you know, about the Great Escaper and it just kind of caught people's imagination.
- I been in the papers.
I've been on TV.
- For a few days, he becomes a sort of celebrity.
- [Reporter] So determined to honor his fallen comrade, the D-Day veteran made a break for the coast and mounted what has now been dubbed The Great Escape.
- It's an enormous privilege because we're never gonna see the likes of either Glenda or Michael ever again.
- It's really special to work with two legends.
- Now everybody engaged on the film has been delightful.
- Glenda is such an iconic person.
I'm a huge admirer of her.
- [Actor] Remarkable actress.
I absolutely love working with her.
- Yeah, very good.
- Glenda brought a lot of love to the role.
- At your age, Adele, you're clinging to every second, and every second is worth clinking to.
- It's just so heartwarming, heartbreaking.
It makes you think.
It makes you call your grandparents.
I'd go anywhere with you.
- It's a story that is very well worth telling, and I hope other people will find it enjoyable.
- They can expect to laugh, cry, and at the end, feel good.
